1 pound bacon, cut into 1/2″ pieces
1 large onion, cut as bacon
2 cup lettuce cut into 1″ squares
6 cup peas
salt and white pepper
pinch of nutmeg
Cook the bacon until slightly crisp. If bacon is very fatty, drain off some of the grease. Add onion and cook until tender but do not allow to brown. Add lettuce and sauté. Add peas and cook until peas are done. Add seasoning to taste.
