Quick Caramel Frosting

2/3 cup butter or margarine

1/2 cup milk

1 pound powdered sugar

1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and milk and heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil gently 5 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Blend in powdered sugar, beating until smooth. Add vanilla. Beat until spreading consistency.

Frosting for two 9″ layers
