Brown Sugar Squares

1/2 cup margarine, softened

2 cup light brown sugar

2 eggs

1 cup cake flour (7/8 cup all-purpose flour may be substituted)

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup chopped pecans

Cream margarine and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix baking powder and salt with flour. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in an 8×8″ pan. Cool and cut into 16 squares.
