Angel Biscuits

5 cup sifted self-rising flour

1/3 cup sugar

1 tsp soda

1 cup crisco shortening

2 packages yeast

2 cup whole buttermilk

Sift flour, sugar, and soda together. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Cut shortening into flour mixture. Mix well. Add buttermilk and yeast. Cover mixture in bowl with damp cloth in refrigerator.

Can be used when cooled or kept up to 10 days.

Roll into small rolls and flatten slightly. Let rise 30 minutes. Cook at 425 degrees until brown.
