Pretzel Salad

2 cups pretzels, nearly pulverized (not soft or think pretzels)

1/4 cup sugar

1 stick melted butter

8 oz softened cream cheese

1 cup sugar

8 oz cool whip

1 large box of strawberry jello

2 cups of boiling water

1 (16 oz) package frozen strawberries, defrosted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix pretzels, 1/4 cup sugar and melted butter. Spread out in 8×12″ casserole dish and bake 10 minutes. Remove and cool.

Thoroughly mix softened cream cheese and remaining cup of sugar. Beat in cool whip. Gently spread over cooled pretzel crust and chill.

Add boiling water jello. Chill until it begins to thicken. Stir in defrosted strawberries. Pour over cheese layer and chill until firm. Makes about 8 servings.
